Screaming Balloons
We are in the very beginning stages of moving. Beginning stages… This means we have packed up 4 boxes so far. A family of 7 in a 4 bedroom 2,400 sq ft home with wall to wall junk everywhere, we probably maybe have about 196 boxes to go? Maybe not that many because I do intend to donate ALOT of stuff - it will be so refreshing to simplify!
I dread moving…. but I’m looking forward to getting it over with and into a new home that we don’t have a deadline to be out of. We have enjoyed living out here in the country with all this space, but we knew it would be short lived and we had to be moving out in 3 years. That time has gone by so extremely fast, just like we knew it would.
Anyway… so we started with the easiest room of all, a room we call “The Quiet Room”. It sits between the living room and the kitchen/dining area. It is an electronic free zone. No TV, no radio, no computer. Just bookcases full of books and two couches. We recently set up a folding table for a homework station in there. It has two nice windows to let the sunshine in and a ceiling fan to keep the room nice and cool in the summertime. I love that room.
So we started packing up the books in there today. It’s funny because the kids (and the dad has too) have been tucking school papers/work papers/etc in between the books, so I had fun going through some of the things I found today. A postcard that I bought Bailey in Disneyworld in Dec of 2005. Baby pictures of Tanner. Ashlyn’s school journals from 3rd grade. DVD’s that were missing from the cases for probably 3 whole years LOL and alot of other things… behind one row of books we found these packages of Rocket Balloons. Finally getting to the subject of my post
You insert a straw into the end of the balloon and you blow them up. Then you let go and it squeals and shoots up into the air… good for a short burst of fun and entertainment for the kids anyway.
McKenzie and Bailey went outside to play with them this evening and had a great time with them.
