Bailey and I get snack ready for the kids about 2:30 every day. We’ve been getting creative with things because we are trying to save $$ and not buy packaged junk. Today, I ravaged the back of my pantry and found some butterfly shaped crackers I got in a gift basket at Christmas time (I think)… Then I got out 4 slices of cheese so they could have cheese and crackers. I found a bag of M&M’s that I bought last month and used the last of it for the kids’ first initials. Bailey thought it was pretty cool. I’m guessing Tanner (and definitely David) might think I’m a total dork. LOL. But hey… snack for like 1o cents per kid - how cool is that!

In DVR news… the season premiere of Lost is tonight. Yay! I cannot wait!! This is one show I watch all by myself. David was never into it (though he doesn’t know what he’s missing!) It used to be hard for me to watch at night, because it just has that “spooky” affect, but I won’t be able to wait til tomorrow I don’t think. I’m so excited!! It’s the little things ;)

I don’t know if I’ve really talked about Bailey’s preschool class or teacher here. I can’t even tell you how wonderful Miss Diana is. She is a WONDERFUL teacher. She has SO many fun activities for the kids each and every day. I’ve worked in preschool at two centers and I’ve had my kids in daycare/preschool before, I’ve never seen someone so organized and who puts so much of herself into a class the way she does. Bailey loves it. She’d go all day, every day if she could.

There’s my Off Broadway Dance Academy Preschool Program plug. ;) I wanted to share something Bailey brought home today. HER FIRST HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT. Oh my gosh, you’d think she was bringing home a million dollars. She was SO excited about this assignment and that she actually had homework. It made her feel so grown up. When McKenzie and Ashlyn got home, she said “ASHLYN, MCKENZIE… you are not going to believe this” LOL… “I HAVE HOMEWORK”. Insert big happy smiley face here.

The assignment was simple. She had to pick an animal and answer a few questions about it on the top, then the bottom part, she had to draw a picture of the animal and write the name of it at the bottom, that part folded up so it was hidden and the other kids will have to guess the animals by listening to the answers to the various questions. Now that I’m thinking about, I guess a fish doesn’t really qualify as an animal… hopefully her teacher doesn’t mind :) Click to enlarge so you can see her writing up close :)

I swear I did not give her the answer to “I eat…. PLANKTON” She watches Spongebob LOL.

Snow…

Filed Under Snow | Leave a Comment

We have gotten barely a dusting of snow twice this year. Last weekend, the weather forecast predicted SIX inches of snow by Sunday night. Sunday night when I went to bed, I saw this….

The kids had a 2 hour delay and by the time they were off to school, before I could even get Bailey dressed and out to play in it for a picture, the snow was GONE. My kids were so bummed. I WANT A BLIZZARD!!!

David has season passes to the Blazers this year, so we’ve been lucky enough to go to quite a few of their games. David’s has taken 3 of the kids so far for “Bobblehead” night and it will be Bailey’s turn the end of February. It’s been alot of fun watching them… they are a good team :)

Ashlyn is also playing basketball for the first time this yeat. Her registration with the basketball program included two basketball camps with the Blazers. One was held at Ridgefield High School. The other was held after the Blazers game on Sunday night. (She also got a free ticket to the game!!) All of the kids from Ridgefield youth basketball programs got to participate. Us parents got to sit in the front row and “dream” about what it would be like to sit courtside. NICE VIEW :) The seats have the ticket holders names engraved in them. Nice!! Ashlyn had a good time and practiced alot of neat drills, that hopefully her coach continues to practice with them.

Here are a few pictures I took. The first one was during the actual game (during halftime)… they put our basketball league’s name on the box :) You can click to enlarge. That is also the view from our season ticket seats. The picture does NOT do it justice at all, we have really nice seats I think :)

I have no idea who these kids are…. but I found this to be a cute kodak moment for two reasons. The little girl “Abbey” was about knee high to a puppy dog’s tail… LOL. She was adorable and I thought it was cute she had a Blazers jersey with her name on it. Then, the two kids next to her, must be brother and sister, and they are cute just because they are holding hands. I thought that was REALLY sweet. :)
This one is an inside joke and is meant only for Joel. Do you recognize anything from this picture? David said “we know who that kid is” — a mini Joel. LOL.

Ashlyn made a basket - it was so cool!Group huddle.. It’s over!!
Ridgefield Youth Basketball (Ash is front and center) saying “Go Blazers”!
My dad bought tickets for our family to see Walking With Dinosaurs for Christmas. We went to this a couple of weeks ago and it was AMAZING. We all (ages 3 to “really old”) had a great time! Her are a few pictures that really don’t even begin to show how huge and realistic these dinosaurs really were! I think you can click them to enlarge.
