This website comes highly recommended from Miss McKenzie herself! She gave it two thumbs up. It’s too hard for Bailey, because you do have to be able to read on your own to understand most of it. She wings it though Pixie Hollow is a Disney site. Your ‘lil princess enters her own fantasy fairy world through Pixie Hollow, by first selecting and naming her very own fairy. McKenzie’s is “Rainbow Gem”. There are some preselected “handles” to pick from. From there you can dress your fairy, play games, search for other fairies and “pixie dust” and just play around in fairy land. It’s pretty cute. My girls love fairies

Yahoo, I’m a Webranger! This is a fun site for kids! It’s hard to compete with popular kids sites like Webkinz and Runescape, but this is an educational and fun site for kids that enjoy anything having to do with nature or scavenger hunts that might lend a little break from the above mentioned sites. I just played through a few minutes and found it entertaining and plan to show my kids (who are currently enjoying nature with their grandpa :))

Webkinz Day Extravangza starts on Friday, April 25th! This is part of the celebration of Webkinz Day on April 29th. Select Webkinz retailers have agreed to give away one Webkinz pet to the first 500 customers who make a $10 purchase at their store. Some stores have games and contests going on as well. You can go here to find out if there is a participating retailer nearby. We have several in our area. From what I’ve read the stores can limit the selection of free animals, but probably aren’t going to. You know where we’ll be Friday after school My kids have birthday money left to spend still, and can get a couple of Webkinz clothes or a few packs of trading cards and a new pet all for $10!

I stumbled upon this website: http://www.freerice.com and thought I’d share. They give you a vocabulary word and you select the answer, in multiple choice format. They donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations for every word you get correct. I spent about 5 minutes answering the words, and I decided I needed to know how many grains of rice would make a serving. I Googled a bit and came up with 2,000 grains = 1/4 cup. I pulled out my Minute Rice box and found that 1/2 cup dry rice makes one full cup cooked, which is equal to one serving. I figured if I could spend 15 minutes a day answering vocab words that would equate to a donation of one serving of rice every two days, to someone who is going hungry and cannot afford to buy food, then I might as well give it a try.

I did spend exactly 15 minutes to get up to 2,000 grains of rice before coming to post about this here, it seems like a good cause and a good way to help out others.

This site launched in October of 2007… to date, they have donated 17,078,325,370 grains of rice. If my math is correct, that is 4,269,581 one cup servings of rice (cooked). That is so great! Hopefully, more and more people will take time to use this site and make this total bigger!

Warm Fuzzies

A friend of mine, Marcy, sent me this nifty little greeting. I was literally ROFLMAO when I saw her 4 adorable kids dancing on my computer monitor. It was hilarious! You can only make 4 elves on each greeting… which didn’t really meet my needs but I made it work anyway by making two of them. PLEASE go see these! UPDATE: I played with pictures of my mom, sister, nephew, dad, Elaine and mother in law this afternoon.  Not sure about Laners pics — what is up with that? LOL… it really should be Curious George like I always call him He reminds me so much of him!!! And, yes my dad’s first match was Stalin!!! Those of you cool people who know him personally, it rightly fits don’t it?

While I’m running yet another virus scan of this darn computer, I figured I’d write a quick update. I am about ready to throw this computer out the window…. I am online, but yet it tells me I am not connected to the internet so I can’t print my postage for my ebay packages. Grr!! I do not want to stand in line at the post office, but it looks like I might have to. This problem has me stumped!
I got my free pictures from AOL today! They turned out really good. My new 5mp camera takes excellent pictures. I remember my first digital camera which wasn’t even a 1mp… these are so sharp and bright. A few were cropped a little funky. One of David and I - his head is completely cropped off. It’s a good thing they were free! I ordered 3 sets and can still order up to 4 more from our other screenames. It’s roughly $6.00 per batch for shipping and tax. So essentially I could order 700 prints for $42.00, making them about 6 cents a print. Can’t beat that! David and I just took this fun quiz. The first time I took it… I came up with David Arquette and Courtney Cox. The first time he took it, he came up with Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston LOL.. We talked about it a little and I just took the test again… and came up with one that cracked me up but is probably close to true!
