Tanner’s Mad Photography Skillz

Oct-24-2009 By Jessica

Yay, boy is following a bit in mama’s footsteps! Tanner is taking a school publications class where he’s been developing in his picture taking skills. My budding photog! I worked on the school newspaper and loved it. He snapped a pic with our old jacked up digicam, it is in a very sad state, LCD screen is cracked and broken, but I was surprised at how well the pic came out. They used it for the banner on the school website, which I thought was really cool! WTG Tanner!

Santa if you are reading this: Tanner is wishing for a new camera for Christmas. A DSLR if you are feeling particularly jollynull

HELLO {hello} HELLO {hello}

Oct-15-2009 By Jessica

Anyone out there? My sister called me the other night to lovingly yell at me for not updating my blog since March… then proceeded to laugh at me for my last post apologizing for being such a bad blogger. I don’t know what happened to me the last 7 months. I am looking back and want to kick myself because I really was not only blogging to share our lives with others, but to also have a “record” of sorts for my kids to look back on some day. My very first blog was right after McKenzie was born. Having relatives scattered about, we found it a fun and easy way to keep everyone updated. AOL closed their blogging community and thankfully I had made a print out of McKenzie’s first blog, it was about 30 pages long, and is now in her “baby box”. She LOVES reading it. I was always really good about keeping a baby book for the kids for about 6 months and then I sucked! So the blogging thing was a way to keep record of things that were easily forgotton about. If my memory is this bad now, at age 33, I’m horrified to think about how bad it will be when I’m 66 and trying to remember my babies and all the events and moments we h have had with them.

So this year…. we bought a house. There is no entries regarding this. I SUCK! This was a big thing for us and took a lot of work for us to get here. I regret not posting about it.

We took some trips, had alot of birthday parties, girls had many a softball game, dance recital and cheer event. Tanner was busy with track, knowledge bowl, band, and bumming around Washington DC!! We have been working on some rennovations to our yard and other areas of our “new home”, which is actually the home we lived in before, we are just the owner now instead of renters - the move… was a breeze ;), and I will have to post pictures in our photo gallery so that there is at least a pictoral record of things. :)

Sooo… here’s to many upcoming posts.

Tanner was inducted into the National Jr Honor Society yesterday at school, by maintaining a 3.5 GPA for his entire 7th grade year. He’s really owned up to his potential this year and has been incredibly active with volunteering, band, Knowledge Bowl, and track. I am really proud of him! You will achieve greatness son, I know you will :)
